Thoughts and News

Since coming to BSSM, it has been a whirlwind of getting to know a new group of people, starting a new school, living in a new city, and developing a newfound trust in God. Now that it has been almost two months since I’ve been in Redding, everything doesn’t feel so new anymore. Patterns and routines are emerging…

All I can think of is money.

It’s crazy how it’s so easy to think in terms of my own lack rather than what I have access to as a daughter of God. He is wealthy beyond my imagination and my Father, yet I find myself constantly questioning whether He will actually provide for me. And I even have testimonies to prove that God has provided for me before so He will do it again! Also, His NAME is Jehovah Jireh, which means “The Lord will provide.” AND God gave me a song about Him providing last year so that I would be prepared to put my trust in Him for provision when I need it this year!! *sigh*

This is literally how my brain works.

I’ve been learning how to take my thoughts captive so that I don’t stay in a place of unbelief, but actually put faith in God and have hope for my situations. This comes from 2 Corinthians 10:5. It says “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” I try to identify the thought, give it to Jesus, and ask Him what He thinks instead.

Testimony: Last Friday I gave a nickel ($.05) as an offering. It was all that was in my purse at the time. (I didn’t have my wallet with me) And the next day I was informed that someone (that I had not asked) wanted to give me $500. So God actually multiplied the nickel by 10,000. Feel free to receive this testimony and believe God to multiply money in your own life. He is so good and so generous!

NEWS: In this School of Supernatural Ministry, we go on a missions trip in March and I have been selected to go to Peru!! When I was making the decision about which trips to apply for, God gave me a funny confirmation for this trip. I was stepping out of a friend’s car and there was a fully wrapped Andes mint on the ground. The Andes Mountains stretch through Peru so I took it as a confirmation because I had previously decided to place Peru as my first choice!

If you are interested in supporting me on this trip, you can see how by clicking the support button on the top of the page. Thanks and I pray for God’s blessings to abound in your life!

I’ve never written a blog before and I’m experimenting. I welcome your feedback. Would you like more specifics? More pictures? A video maybe? More on my experiences? More thoughts? Or something else?

BSSM – Redding, CA

Quick Update:

This May I graduated from Middlebury College. I majored in Dance and minored in Education Studies.

Over the summer I stayed in Middlebury, VT to work at Mary Johnson Children’s Center, a local daycare center. I had the privilege of staying with Meredith and Jeff Rehbach and did many fun Vermonty things that I had never done during the busy school year.

At the end of the summer I packed all of my belongings and flew to Redding, CA to attend Bethel Church’s School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM)!

Why:

You may be wondering why I am here. So I will explain. I have always felt that I wanted to take a year after college to delve into God’s heart and hear what He has for me. Previously, I had thought about doing a YWAM Discipleship Training School, but when I heard about Bethel Church and this school of supernatural ministry, I thought that this might just be what I was looking for. The church itself incorporates dance onstage during worship and there is a conservatory attached to the church (Bethel Conservatory of the Arts) that trains and equips people to dance from a place of identity rather than for it. Therefore, I can deepen my relationship with God WHILE continuing to train in dance! The term “supernatural” seems scary, but the prefix “super” means over or above, so basically it is describing things that are over and above the natural world, aka the spiritual world. The entity of God would fall in the category of Supernatural along with His ways. So not only am I learning to grow deeper in my relationship with God – to know His voice and recognize His presence – but also I am learning to do what Jesus and his apostles did, like heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, prophesy, etc. (If you have any questions on any of these things feel free to contact me and I can do my best to explain.)
